During my research, I discovered that in the late 1800s, people traveled to Kullaberg to swim in the ocean—men and women together. Visitors came from all over Europe, since at that time mixed bathing was forbidden elsewhere. This cultural phenomenon became known as “the sin of the bay”, and it has served as the central concept throughout my process.
In photographs from that era, I noticed the signage on boats, often featuring beautifully stylized number 2’s. I found this detail both aesthetically striking and historically meaningful, and it became the main inspiration for the Kullaberg Display Font.
Today, Kullaberg Winery is located at the very tip of the bay. Its unique terroir—sand and clay blended with rare Kullait rock—combined with long summer evenings, abundant daylight, and cool nights, gives Kullaberg wines their distinctive character: the taste of a decadent, romantic coastal lifestyle.
